HOME Page Café
Located in the lobby of the Free Library of Philadelphia's Central Branch on 1901 Vine Street, The HOME Page Café is an innovative collaboration that provides employment and workplace skill development for formerly homeless individuals and teen students in Project HOME's Harold A. Honickman Entrepreneurial Program.
Open since 2008, the café provides extensive staff training in customer service, coffee preparation and workplace skills. Starbucks provides the coffee for the Café, and Metropolitan Bakery supplies the baked goods. The four person staff serves more than 150 customers daily. To date, 17 people with a history of homelessness have been trained and gone on to other employment. Many of the café staff go back to school, reconnect with family and make new friends.
The HOME Page Café closed permanently in July 2016.
